In addition to the standards and regulations that specifically address automotive cybersecurity in terms of development structures and procedures, there are other relevant series of standards, assessments and certification procedures in the automotive context that are more aimed at verifying, proving and enhancing security in the industry and its industrial processes.

In this 15-minute video course, "IEC 62443 & TISAX (G12_1)", you will learn about the role of the IEC 62433 standard series for the cybersecurity of Industrial automation and control systems (IACS) and how TISAX is the most important assessment for the automotive industry to verify information security.

In the first part of the video, we first give a brief overview of the standards in the field of cybersecurity in the automotive industry before turning to IEC 62443. First, we introduce the scope and goal of the standard series in general. Then we move on to the various parts: General, Policies & Procedures, System and Component are pointed out and explained.

The second part of the video is about TISAX (Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange), also with a look at the scope and goals. Then we start to show the whole procedure required for a TISAX assessment / certification in general, in the steps of the whole process. We then go into more detail about the Information Security Assessment (VDA-ISA for short). (Note: You can also download the complete VDA-ISA questionnaire free of charge from the official TISAX website). Here we show how the process looks in concrete terms with regard to the assessment and the exchange of the assessment results achieved.
