When it comes to automotive cybersecurity related questions in organizational-structural decisions, process definition, and day-to-day development work in the automotive industry, you will face different relevant standards, regulations, and laws on a recurring basis. In this video course "The difference between standards, regulations, and laws", we will explain the distinction between these different types and give you an overview of their far-reaching impacts.

First we will talk about the main differences between standards, regulations, and laws in general, what they are meant for, what is mandatory and what is not. Here you should understand how those rules hold products to a certain standard and the level of authority they have.

In the second part of the video, we give you the most important standards and regulation for automotive cybersecurity, this of course is the UN R155 & the ISO/SAE 21434. Furthermore, we go through laws that mention or include automotive cybersecurity in them.
